The Division's Office of Communications directs all internal and external communications for the Humanities Division. The Director of Communications works closely with the Dean of the Humanities, humanities departments, and University Communications to coordinate divisional messaging, ensure the humanities departments and centers are well represented in university-wide communications, and celebrate faculty achievements and honors.
The Office of Communications maintains this web site, assists in publicizing departmental lectures supported by the Division, provides advice and support in creating promotional materials (fliers, newsletters, postcards, event programs, etc.) for departments within the Division, and oversees the division's news and events blog (a regularly updated tool for promoting events, faculty awards, publications, and other divisional news). The Office of Communications publishes, compiles and edits Tableau, the bi-annual magazine for friends and alumni, and serves as a liaison between the division and the University News Office to develop articles for the Chronicle, university web site features, and other promotional support for departmental programming. The Director of Communications also serves as a link between humanities and other divisions within the university by serving on a variety of communications and planning committees.
