What do you like most about your job?
As an alumna of the Master of Arts Program in the Humanities (MAPH), I feel privileged to work with such talented colleagues, including administrators, our esteemed faculty, and Divisional leadership. As the primary project manager for the Division’s stewardship efforts, I also have an insider view on the immediate impact that our development efforts have on both faculty and student research—funds raised help to augment faculty travel and archival work and fellowship support allows our students to compile a strong body of research to aid in their dissertation completion.

What was the last good book you read?
I recently read Americanah by Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie and was struck how especially poignant it is today. And I’m currently reading My Brilliant Friend by Elena Ferrante based on the recommendation of a former Divisional colleague.

It's the start of the school year. If you could go back in time, what advice would you give your 18-year-old self at the start of college?
I would want to encourage her to continue to pursue her love of learning—and not to limit herself to one discipline or career. I say this because I oftentimes thought more about practical outcomes than my own sense of enjoyment—but it was my liberal arts education that truly opened up my world and challenged me to observe and think in new ways (and to take up the humanistic cause).
