Meet the Staff: Alyssa Padilla-Drexler
More than 100 staff members work in the Division of the Humanities. We'll introduce you to our staff in this continuing series.
Alyssa Padilla-Drexler
Department Administrator, Department of Art History
Office: Cochrane-Woods Art Center, 160
What do you like most about your job?
I love the frequent interaction with faculty and students. The community in our department is truly wonderful, and it’s great to work in such a supportive and collaborative environment.
What was the last good book you read?
I’d have to say The Dark Tower series by Stephen King. Yes, that’s technically 8 books, but it’s a marvelous world he’s created. I suspect it’s a series I’ll come back to periodically for the rest of my life.
You might work with me if you need...
Information about art history courses, fellowships, student teaching and other department employment; our Mellon COSI (Chicago Objects Study Initiative) grant; event co-sponsorships and various arts initiatives on campus; traveling seminars; BA or PhD program questions; and most recently, issues related to the Advisory Committee on Diversity in the Humanities
What is your New Year's resolution for 2018?
To cook more at home. I really love cooking, but need to get better about making time in my schedule for it.
